Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a sponsored search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request under its own practices. Ohio County Court Docket does not keep a local log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained as needed to answer it. We limit access to our organization and disclose a message outside it only when the law requires that disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary server logs collect limited technical details when a visitor loads a page:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and navigation patterns. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although doing so may alter how some features operate.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Ohio County dockets or personal case information. General instructions point visitors to Indiana MyCase, Ohio Circuit Court 58C01, and the Ohio County Clerk. Access to the underlying court record is governed by Indiana's Rules on Access to Court Records, including Rules 4 and 5, and remote access is governed by Administrative Rule 9. The Indiana Access to Public Records Act, IC 5-14-3, does not override a court-record exclusion, seal, or confidentiality order.
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about a case party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the sponsored search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure practices apply to information submitted there. Review the provider's policy before entering a query because this policy does not govern its systems.
Links to Other Websites
Throughout the site we link to clerk of court pages, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking any of those links takes you off our site. At that point, their privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before sharing any personal details.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information in our control. No internet service can promise complete security, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. A verified report that a minor supplied such data will be reviewed for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Indiana privacy and consumer-protection laws may provide rights that depend on the type of data and transaction. Regardless of location, visitors can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revision will be posted here with its new effective date, so visitors should review this page periodically.
Effective date: August 23, 2026
